Andrew Finkelstein, trial attorney and managing partner of Finkelstein & Partners, LLP, has become a noted consumer activist through his representation of injured individuals against irresponsible parties and corporate wrongdoers across the tri-state area (NY, CT, NJ). He has successfully handled numerous multimillion-dollar cases by representing plaintiffs in wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases arising from defective drugs, dangerous consumer products, automobile, bus, and motorcycle accidents, dog bites, fall down accidents, and aircraft crashes.

Andrew was honored by the American Association for Justice for his leadership participation in the program 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, where he served as captain in a pro bono capacity through “Lawyers Care.” Finkelstein & Partners, with Andrew’s oversight, obtained over $10 million for victims and waived all legal fees associated with this representation. He was honored by the Association of Trial Lawyers of America for his leadership participation in the program.

In recognition of his commitment to consumer protection, Andrew has been appointed to several committees overseeing nationwide litigation involving dangerous pharmaceuticals. He has worked closely with the FDA regarding the adverse effects associated with pharmaceuticals, having filed a Citizens Petition seeking enhanced warning of the side effects.

By becoming a Trial School Faculty member, Andrew hopes to spread his knowledge and expertise with younger, less experienced lawyers. As Andrew puts it, “when I was a younger lawyer there was no place to practice and develop trial skills except in the courtroom. In hindsight, the mistakes I made could have been avoided if I had the opportunity to have a platform like the Trial School to learn from experienced trial lawyers”. Now, 30 years later, Andrew welcomes the opportunity to share his experiences with attorneys so we can all improve our skills while providing better outcomes for our clients. Andrew has learned teaching helps him as much as it does the attorneys he is working with and he welcomes the opportunity to share what he has learned from other lawyers. “Working collaboratively is central to developing as a lawyer and the Trial School provides the opportunity to do just that.”
