The SM-N915J is the model number of the Galaxy Note Edge, which was released in 2014. The device featured a unique curved screen on one side, which provided additional functionality such as quick access to apps and notifications.

Like any electronic device, the Galaxy Note Edge requires firmware updates to improve performance and fix bugs. In this article, we will discuss how to download the latest firmware for your SM-N915J device.

Step 1: Check your current firmware version

Before downloading the latest firmware, it’s important to check your current firmware version. To do this, go to Settings > About Device > Software Info. The firmware version will be listed under “Baseband Version” or “Build Number.”

Step 2: Download the latest firmware

Once you have determined your current firmware version, it’s time to download the latest firmware. There are several websites that offer firmware downloads for Samsung devices, but we recommend using the official Samsung website.

  1. Go to
  2. Click on “Support” at the top of the page
  3. Select “Mobile” from the dropdown menu
  4. Enter “SM-N915J” in the search bar and select your device
  5. Click on “Downloads” and select “Firmware”
  6. Select the latest firmware version and click “Download”

Important Note:

Make sure to download the correct firmware version for your device. Installing the wrong firmware can cause serious issues and may even brick your device.

Step 3: Install the firmware

After downloading the firmware, it’s time to install it on your device. Here are the steps:

  1. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable
  2. Open the downloaded firmware file (it will have a .tar.md5 extension)
  3. Extract the contents of the file
  4. Download and install the Samsung Smart Switch software on your computer
  5. Open Samsung Smart Switch and click on “More” at the top of the screen
  6. Select “Emergency Software Recovery and Initialization”
  7. Enter your device model number (SM-N915J) and serial number
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware

Important Note:

Make sure to fully charge your device before installing the firmware. Also, make sure to backup all important data on your device before proceeding with the installation. Installing new firmware will erase all data from your device.

Downloading and installing the latest firmware for your SM-N915J device is essential for improved performance and bug fixes. Follow the above steps carefully and make sure to download the correct firmware version for your device. If you encounter any issues during the installation process, consult with a professional or contact Samsung support.
